1405 Finney Falcons Falcon Time Falcon Scout 
Team 1405 is a high school robotics team comprised of students from the Charles Finney School and local homeschoolers. We compete in the FIRST Robotics Competition where we design, fabricate, and compete with a new robot every year.
Our mission is to inspire young people to be science and technology leaders, by engaging them in exciting mentor-based programs that build science, engineering and technology skills, that inspire innovation, and that foster well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication, and leadership. Our was founded in 2003 at the Charles Finney School, a private Christian K-12 school in Penfield, NY (about 10 minutes east of Rochester). About half of our team is comprised of local homeschoolers. A small team with big heart, we have used creativity and ingenuity to consistently compete against teams with much larger rosters (and budgets).
FIRST, which means "For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology," is a non-profit organization for high school students. High school students from the Charles Finney School and local homeschoolers participate on FRC team 1405 and each year create a competitive robot with the support of industry and FIRST mentors.
Industry professionals and FIRST alumni inspire students and pass their knowledge on to the team to foster a team that grows in competitiveness.
We build leaders using robots. The point was never the robot.
